Park Estates is a deed restricted, sub-division of Lake of the Woods of Jacaranda. In 1991 – ? Parker purchased “Track D” of Lake of the Woods of Jacaranda, which consisted of 76 building lots, from the developer of Lake of the Woods. Most of the homes in Park Estates either back up to or face water (Lake Meredith and Park Estates Pond) and/or a preserve area. Maintaining the nature of the land was, and continues to be, very important to Park Estates residents.
Mr. Parker’s vision for Park Estates was to keep the uniqueness by having at least five oak trees on each lot. Each of the 76 lots are situated differently so that the placement of the homes is based upon where the trees are located. To this day, our Oak Trees are coveted and very important to Park Estates.
Mr. Parker also wanted to make sure that the homes were unique, so even though he built some of the homes, he also sold off lots to individuals and allowed them to bring in their own builders. This ensured that many of the homes in Park Estates had their own identity. The last new home to be built in Park Estates was in 2006 and that was the last lot available. There will not be any more homes built here unless a current home is demolished.
Park Estates also has two lovely park areas – Willow Rest Park and Wild Oak Park which can be used by the residents. Twice a year our Social Committee hosts a picnic in Willow Rest Park for all residents.
